RALEIGH — Incumbent Republican Sen. Danny Earl Britt, Jr. has defeated Democratic challenger Kathy Batt to retain his Hoke County District 24 seat.
Results are not yet final but Britt has taken in 58.75% of the vote to Batt’s 41.25%.
In the 2022 general election, Britt won 28,761 votes or 58.32% to Democrat Darrell Gibson, Jr. who won just 20,551 votes.
Britt has served in the North Carolina since winning his first election in the 2016 general election and now advances to a fifth term in January 2025.
He was the District 13 representative, which represented all of Robeson and Columbus counties until redistricting in 2023. He now represents all of Robeson, Hoke and Scotland counties.
