Athlete of the Week: Breno Radici

Breno Radici is Athlete of the Week.

Radici is an active duty sergeant first class in the Army, stationed at Fort Bragg. The Hoke native realized last fall he was getting close to retirement and felt he needed to do something about his weight and health. He began running and worked his way up to 3K and 5K races. Then, he had hernia surgery and was cleared to resume light running.

Instead, on May 3, 18 days after surgery, with no training, after not running at all in more than three weeks, he ran the Pittsburgh half marathon. He finished with a time of 3:16:30.
