RAEFORD — Hoke County Sheriff deputies arrested Antonio Smith, 37, during a traffic stop last Thursday near Pittman Grove Church Road and Davis Bridge Road.

A detective with the Sheriff Office’s Violent Crimes Task Force initiated the stop on Smith due to a window tint violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, Smith handed the detective a Crown Royal bag containing suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a concealed firearm, which was later identified as stolen from Scotland County.

Multiple narcotics were found on another occupant of the vehicle, but Smith claimed ownership of those substances. He was transported to the Hoke County Detention Center and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of schedule I and II controlled substances, possession of a stolen firearm, driving while license revoked and the window tint violation.

Due to the Bond Integrity Act, Smith was held without bond.
