RAEFORD — One individual was arrested and charged in connection to a shooting in Hoke County last week. According to deputies, the incident took place on Greentree Drive in Raeford on July 31. A victim was harmed in the shooting but was ultimately taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, Joe L. Nelson was detained as a suspect. He has since been charged with a felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was held on a $50,000 secured bond, according to deputies.
